Delhi Violence: Is National Security Advisor Ajit Doval the solution or a sign of a deeper problem?

To go, the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval went to the riot-affected areas of Delhi late on Tuesday night. But his visit was not publicized because of not meeting the people or not being in the eyes of the camera. However, its effect was definitely visible.

But on Wednesday evening, when he walked around the areas like Ghonda, Maujpur and Chauhan Bangar with black glasses, he was surrounded by not only the latest armed security forces but also TV cameras. And in the manner in which they were assuring people, by opening the doors, they were not only in Hindi or Urdu two-four words, they were giving them confidence by speaking English in particular English style.

Amit Shah's strategy is not to weaken Ajit Doval - viewpoint

This thoroughbred was not only non-political, it was also strange. He was giving some such assurance, as if he did not know otherwise he would not let all this happen and nothing will happen now.

His dramatic entry was after the CAA law, the misconceptions and insecurities spread by the declarations related to NPR and NRC, the Shaheen Bagh in Delhi and a lot of assembly elections and agitation. No previous defense advisor had landed in such a role so far.

Vajpayee was the Prime Minister at the time of the 2002 Gujarat riots and his National Security Advisor Brajesh Mishra did not say a word about it. However, it was Vajpayee who spoke about the observance of Rajdharma.

Ajit Doval is the fifth National Security Advisor. The four national security advisors before them were less qualified, less active or less aware of their responsibilities? Brajesh Mishra, JN Dixit, MK Narayan and Shivshankar Menon had solid reasons, if not seen walking in such narrow streets before. Now Doval is devising a new definition for the role of National Security Advisor.

Treatment of political issue with power?

Needless to say that everyone has been involved in politics ranging from the new citizenship law to the citizenship register, from the top of the BJP and the Sangh to the Chhutbhaiya leader. He left no stone unturned in communalizing democratic resistance like Shaheen Bagh.

However, when the result was a riot and Delhi remained a raid, arson arena for three days, then the responsibility was handed over to the National Security Advisor from the government.

This seems strange because when the whole cabinet is sitting in Delhi, all the prominent people of BJP are in Delhi, from the Prime Minister to the Councilor of Municipality in Delhi. Then the task of going among the common people should be entrusted to the person who has nothing to do with the people, votes and democratic system.

The job of the National Security Advisor is to coordinate intelligence agencies and advise the Prime Minister on sensitive matters. Not by persuading people by visiting the riotous areas.

Why the Home Minister is not coming forward?

The question is also of the Home Ministry and also of the Home Minister, who are targeting the opposition by making communal statements like the current in Shaheen Bagh. So the government should give them the responsibility of 'hiding' and holding one meeting, it is understandable. But if both his deputy are also kept out of the ground, then it is surprising.

Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai was present at the salute given to the Delhi Police martyr Jawan Ratan Lal. But g. Krishna Reddy was seen in political rhetoric till the end. He was not seen taking any administrative steps.

And Doval, who likes to call himself Doval, once met the Home Minister, but his reporting is directly to the Prime Minister. Amit Shah has the responsibility of Delhi Police, so it is important to meet him. But Doval's status also belongs to the cabinet minister and he has direct access to the Prime Minister anyway.

It is too early to conclude that Delhi's riots will be difficult to control or there will be partiality in administrative decisions if Doval, who has a soft attitude towards the BJP and the Sangh, takes over the administrative reins during his job as a secret police. But to bring them to the forefront, at some places, the people of the political administration seem to prove themselves to be unacceptable.

Why is Ajit Doval being pushed forward again and again?

If this was the case alone, then it would not hurt to end it. We find that after the big political decision to remove Section 370 in Kashmir, the task of meeting and reassuring the common people was entrusted to Ajit Doval and he was seen eating biryani and drinking coffee with TV cameras in the shadow of the bayou. .

Now it is a different matter that even after more than six months, the people of Kashmir are waiting for the situation to return to normal and do not know whether Doval Saheb remembers his point or not.

Actually, not only Doval, no bureaucrat and military ruler need to remember such things. This is needed by the big leaders, who have to go to the public again and again, ask for their votes, get their power from them, they have to give account of their work, for their mistakes. We have to apologize.

On the question of the correspondent of 'Indian Express', BJP General Secretary Anil Jain said that if the Home Minister visits the streets of Delhi, the message will not go well. Needless to say that this excuse is not worth getting down. Someone else should take care of someone else. If you want to take accountability, then someone else is put forward.

New style of governance

Actually, Modi's new style of governance is seen here. After the departure of Sushma Swaraj and Jaitley, people like Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh are left with no political existence. The rest are people like all the pawns, whom Modi dances with his will.

When a big opportunity comes, it is a new change not to pursue such people. If a politically accountable person comes forward, responsibility will come to the entire cabinet. And if Amit Shah comes to the fore, then the whole CAA-NRC controversy will come up, in which he himself has a role in spreading misconceptions.

The Prime Minister has denied Ramlila Maidan that there is no preparation for NRC, but Amit Shah himself has announced this inside Parliament. This could be the case, but if this was the issue, then another senior minister could have been put on the front.

Repeating Ajit Doval again and again is a further issue and it is completely un-democratic for a democratically elected government to adopt this method. Sending people associated with the army and intelligence agencies among the people is not a good sign for democracy. Not by any means.
