#INDvsNZ: Five reasons for India's 5-0 win over New Zealand

In the first overseas tour of the year, the Indian team has defeated New Zealand in a five-match T20 series unilaterally 5–0.

The team from New Zealand appeared under great pressure throughout the series, while in their own home they are considered very strong.

In front of the bowling of the Indian team, the batsmen of New Zealand and the bowlers of New Zealand were seen with a wet cat in front of the Indian batsmen.

For the first time, the confidence of the players of New Zealand, while playing on their own grounds, was very low.

On the other hand KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, captain Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer showed their brilliance in batting.

Apart from the quartet of fast bowlers Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur, spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravindra Jadeja also proved to be the trump's aces on the deciding occasion.

After all, how did India beat New Zealand for the first time in the T20 series on the same ground. There are five important reasons for this.

1. KL Rahul's strong batting

India's opener KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 56 then 57, 27, 39 and 45 runs in five matches in this series. He scored 224 runs and that too with a strike rate of 144 runs.

He received his reward as Player of the Series. Apart from this, KL Rahul also played the role of wicketkeeper with success, this gave captain Virat Kohli an opportunity to feed an extra batsman or bowler in the team.

Not only this, he captained the fifth and final T20 match in the absence of Virat Kohli and also managed to win the first match.

2. Hitman Rohit Sharma's blast

However, India's opener Rohit Sharma could do wonders with his bat in only two matches. He scored 65 in the third match and an unbeaten 60 in the fifth and final match.

But these innings played a key role in India winning the series. He led India to victory in the third match played in Hamilton when it needed 17 runs to win the super over after the match was tied.

Rohit Sharma ended the tension by scoring two consecutive sixes and gave India an unassailable 3-0 lead in the series with a win.

3. Captain Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer also shine

India captain Virat Kohli also showed his power and strengthened India by scoring 45 runs in the first match and then 38 runs in the third match. Along with this, his fielding in this series was also excellent.

This affected the entire team. In the fourth match, the Indian fielders dismissed three New Zealand players.

Shreyas Iyer also lived up to the dependence of Virat Kohli. Shreyas Iyer scored an unbeaten 58 in the first match and helped to achieve big goals like 203 runs for the win.

Shreyas Iyer's bat did not stop here. He showed 44 and fifth in the second match and an unbeaten 33 in the last match, that there is nothing to worry about in the middle order now, especially the number four problem.

4. Indian bowlers dominated

It is not easy to bowl on a fast and bouncy New Zealand wicket, but all the Indian bowlers bowled this time as if they had experienced the wicket there for years.

Apart from Jaspreet Bumrah and Mohammed Shami, Navdeep Saini and Shardul Thakur bowled with their fine lines and legs.

Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah gave up the ball on the yorker length by abandoning the weapons like short pitch and bouncer and kept the New Zealand batsmen on the back foot.

Mohammed Shami got the tie tied with New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor in the last 20th over in the third match. After this, India won in the Super Over.

Shardul Thakur of incredible bowling in the fourth match. New Zealand had a target of 166 runs to win. His score in the 19th over was 158 runs, losing three wickets, meaning victory was almost certain, but Shardul Thakur took the wicket of Ross Taylor on the very first ball of the last over.

In the same over, he also took the wicket of Darrell Mitchell while Tim Seifert and Mitchell Santner were run out. As a result New Zealand were able to score 165 runs losing seven wickets and the match was tied.

This match was a way the Indian team pulled out of New Zealand's jaws on the basis of their bowlers and fielders as India won in the Super Over.

As a spinner, he did not let the hands of Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal get the opportunity.

5. New Zealand batsmen scattered under pressure

Now it is not like that New Zealand batsmen could not play at all. Apart from captain Kane Williamson, Colin Munro, Tim Seifert, Ross Taylor played good innings but they could not win the team. The first three matches were very close.

This victory is also important for the Indian team because the T20 World Cup is to be held in Australia this year, and the wickets there are the same as New Zealand.

Where India had earlier won only one of the four T20 matches played in New Zealand and where it was now eliminated 5–0.

However, this series also gave a lesson for India that the Indian team could not score big while batting first. It was amazing of his bowlers that the team continued to progress on the path of victory.

Looking at this, it can be said that now in the three-match series against New Zealand, India also has
