Team India's opener batsman Shikhar Dhawan has been out for at least three weeks due to injury in the thumb due to the World Cup tournament. The World Cup has started on May 30 and is the final match on July 14.

This is a great blow to India because Shikhar Dhawan had scored a magnificent 117 off 109 balls against Australia last week. Dhawan was hit on the left thumb by Australian bowler Nathan Coulter in this match. Although Dhawan was playing till he was injured,

Due to this injury, Shikhar Dhawan was not able to field and Ravindra Jadeja had his field fielding. When the thumb of the peak was scanned, it was found that there is a fracture.

India has played two matches so far in the World Cup. With the absence of Shikhar Dhawan, Captain Kohli will have to look for a new opener with Rohit Sharma.

For World Cup 2019, Rishabh Pant and Ambati Rayudu have been named as additional players. Shikhar Dhawan has played 130 international one-dayers for India and has scored 5,480 runs at an average of 44. Dhawan has 17 centuries and 27 half centuries.

India's match in June is from New Zealand, Pakistan, Afghanistan, West Indies, and England. Of course, Shikhar Dhawan will be out of these matches. In the non-existence of Dhawan, KL Rahul can be seen with Rohit Sharma. But if Rahul comes as Rahul opener, then Virat Kohli will have to think for the fourth.

Rishabh Pant and Mumbai's Shreyas Iyer are talking about filling Shikhar Dhawan's place. The fracture was found in the thumb of the peak when he did not arrive with the team at Nottingham on Thursday for the match against New Zealand.
