The mercy petition of Pawan Gupta, the culprit of the Nirbhaya case, has been rejected by President Ram Nath Kovind.
Earlier, Delhi's Patiala House Court on Monday stayed the execution of the four convicts in the Nirbhaya case till further orders.
On Monday, Pawan Gupta's lawyer told the court that his mercy petition is pending with the President.
According to the predetermined schedule, the hanging was scheduled to take place at six in the morning on Tuesday.
On Monday, the curative petition filed by Pawan Gupta was also dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Former Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brother Atul Singh Sengar have been convicted in the murder of the father of the Unnao rape victim.
A Delhi court found Kuldeep Sengar guilty of culpable homicide.
Kuldeep Sengar has already been convicted in the rape of a girl from Unnao. The rape victim was 15 years old at that time.
The rape victim's father died in a hospital in Unnao in 2018. At that time he was in police custody in a case of Arms Act.
The 55-year-old father of the rape victim was admitted to the hospital after complaining of abdominal pain. But the post-mortem report showed that the rape victim's father had suffered serious injuries.

Noida DM GB Nagar has said that all the cases of investigation of corona virus six cases have come negative.
However, he said that all six people have been kept under observation for 14 days. GB Nagar said that the government and the administration are cautious about the corona virus.

Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has said that symptoms of corona have been found in 15 out of 21 Italian tourists. Harsh vardhan said that the corona spreads rapidly in each other.
